I have to admit, when I first heard Fukuburger was making its way down to Cali from the City of Sin, I was a little skeptical about how it would do in such an already burger-saturated city. Not to mention they chose to open up shop surrounded by nearly 10 other burger joints within a mile radius. But Fuku definitely came in kickin’ the door with something to prove, and they did. As many of you may know, this passed weekend, Manny Pacquiao defended his Welterweight title from Juan Manuel Marquez. Luckily, I was able to watch the controversial fight at The Montalban Theater in Los Angeles, courtesy of Nike Sportswear. There was a huge turnout, and you know the LA sneaker fam was in the building. The Nike Sportswear truck was there selling the highly limited Pacquiao Ultimatum KO hoodies to a lucky few, along with custom tees/hoodies. The event was catered by Park’s Finest Catering.
A few weeks ago, I tried Palm’s Thai Restaurant in Hollywood for the first time. When it comes to Thai food, I have to admit, I can be a little picky. I tend to stick to what I know and what I like, and if the spot doesn’t do it right, chances are I won’t be back.
I will be back to Palm’s Thai Restaurant.
Starting this Friday September 9, the Los Angeles BBQ Festival will to the Santa Monica Beach once again, serving up some of the best barbeque from across the country. Eat Good. Stay Fresh.
After stopping by RIF this weekend, there was no question that I was going to hit up some good eats in LA right after. And after some debate, the homie and I decided to put all of this Best Burger in Amerca talk to the test. Of course, I’m referring to Umami Burger. And to be honest, Umami is serious. Best burger in America?? Probably not. But I appreciate the thought that went into the food and the freshness of the product. I tried the signature Umami Burger and it was delicious. I wasn’t exactly feeling the $11 price tag considering the portion size, but it is what it is. Maybe not the BEST burger I’ve eaten, but it is definitely up there. Manny (RIF) hard at work.
Good People Helping Good People. That’s what RIF Los Angeles is all about. I made a stop by the shop yesterday to drop off some consignment and pick up a new shirt. They got a full lineup of new colorways of their PUSHING WEIGHT tee right now, and limited sizes of the pocket tees still available. Don’t Sleep. Read More for additional pics.
