The latest edition of My Top 5 features the man behind the one and only sneaker blog dedicated entirely to Vans, OFFTHEWALLSITE.net. The homie DJ Guamstyles (above left) put together his Top 5 list of Vans projects of 2011. Check the full feature after the jump, where he talks a little about how the site got started and how many pairs of Vans are in his always growing collection. Enjoy.

One of the hardest thing’s for me to do is to call something my “favorite.” So, this year, I decided to start trying to narrow things down into lists. Currently, I’m on my quest to find the Top 5 Steakhouse’s in the greater Los Angeles area. A couple weeks back I tried out Mastro’s, and recently I checked out Fleming’s. I ordered the bone-in ribeye again to keep my reviews consistent. The steak was actually really good, but in comparison to Mastro’s, this was the Carl’s Jr. to an In-N-Out. The prices were about the same, but there was just no comparison to the quality. Also, I didn’t appreciate the portion size of the sides, which seemed far too small for the pricing, although their calamari appetizer was surprisingly really good. I’m just hoping I didn’t start this Quest on the wrong end, but we will see. The next stops will most likely be Morton’s and probably Ruth’s Chris. If you have any suggestions for Steakhouses please comment below or email here.

This year I’m starting a new series on FWS called My Top 5, which will feature various Top 5 Lists from different friends in the industry. What better way to kick this off with one of the most iconic sneakers to ever grace the Earth, the Nike Air Force 1. And of course I had to enlist the expertise of none other than the Air Force 1 Ambassador on the West Coast, my man, Hassan, also known as AFROKIX. I have never met anyone that is more passionate about the Air Force 1 than this man here. Hassan was originally raised in Brussels, Belgium in Europe where Air Max’s and runners reign supreme, so Air Force 1’s were the shoes that ended up sitting on clearance racks. What started out as an economic choice, grew to be his obsession. Today, Hassan holds a collection of over 600 pairs with over 200 of them being AF1’s. Here’s his Top 5.

The other night my fiance caught me talking in my sleep, and I woke up right after saying, “Can I order uhh…” To be honest, I was more frustrated than embarrassed because I didn’t get to complete me order! The was food I was so vividly dreaming about ordering was the Student Special at Aloha Kitchen in Vegas. I ate this at least once a week while going to school at UNLV, but haven’t had it in months! $4.49 for a teriyaki chicken bowl and a drink. Can’t get much better. Yup, it’s the stuff dreams are made of. Apparently.

Woke up to this one morning. She looked so happy, I didn’t have the heart to make her move. It must be true that pets can take on characteristics of their owners…
More pics/vids of my pets’ love affair with my shoes to come. Stay tuned.

Mastro’s Steakhouse Knows Steak. I don’t usually eat at fancy places like this, but it was well worth it. I stepped out of my car at the valet wearing Levi’s and Nikes on my feet, surrounded by people in fitted suits and European cars. I couldn’t have looked more out of place, but I didn’t care. I came here with one thing on my mind…Steak. 22oz. bone-in ribeye, medium. It just doesn’t get much better than that. This was my first time eating at Mastro’s, and it did not disappoint. No matter where you are or who you are, good food is good food. And the steak I ate at Mastro’s was easily one of the best I’ve ever eaten. Mastro’s may hurt your pockets, but your stomach will thank you later. Save up, bring a loved one, enjoy an amazing steak.

Last weekend marked the first ever Sneaker Con, Los Angeles. Unfortunately, I was not able to make it, but luckily the homie @KingPoetic01 was able to hold me down with the pics. Hit the jump to see some of what went down at the event.

LA Weekly ranks their choices for the 10 Best Burgers in Los Angeles, including the likes of fan favorites Umami, Stout, and Comme Ca. I can’t say that I agree with the list 100%, but there are A LOT of great burgers on there. I am currently on my own quest for the best burger in LA, so if you have any suggestions feel free to hit me on twitter or via email.

I’ll never forget watching MJ sink that game winning shot in ‘98, and wondering what shoes he was wearing. Now, you have yet another chance to pick up these iconic underrated Jordan’s. They retail for $160 and are available at Jordan retailers like ATTIC. Don’t sleep…like Bryon Russell did on that D!
Don’t forget! Every $25 you spend at ATTIC increases your chances of being entered in the raffle for the Concords. For more rules and guidelines, click here.

This past Friday marked the 5 year anniversary of my favorite sneaker shop in the world, RIF. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to come out to the CRAZY anniversary party they had, but the good news for all of us that might’ve missed it, is that they just threw up Part 1 of the recap from the event on their site. So, make sure to click here and check out some of the madness that went down!

With the hype of the Jordan 3’s return slowly winding down, I couldn’t help but address a common issue in the sneaker loving community, the epic debate between “Elephant” print and “Cement.” I’ll start this off with a FACT: The crackle print on the Air Jordan 3 was inspired by elephant skin, NOT cement (Concrete, technically), hence, the term “Elephant” print. However, many people use the phrases Black/Cement or White/Cement when describing Jordan 3’s. Initially, these phrases were used in reference to the color description of the shoe. Black and Cement Grey or White and Cement Grey. Over time, with the similarities between the look of the elephant print and cracked “cement,” these descriptions have become misinterpreted as referring to the print of the shoe as Cement, which is incorrect. The term “cement” in the nickname is strictly in reference to the Cement Grey color on the shoe.

“Pancakes with an egg cracked into it and bacon also mixed in as well… as soon as you cut the pancakes, the yolk breaks and just OOOOOZES out of the pancakes.. not to mention, the bacon adds a crispy, salty contrast to the sweet softness of the pancake… ahhh… “

I have to admit, when I first heard Fukuburger was making its way down to Cali from the City of Sin, I was a little skeptical about how it would do in such an already burger-saturated city. Not to mention they chose to open up shop surrounded by nearly 10 other burger joints within a mile radius. But Fuku definitely came in kickin’ the door with something to prove, and they did. I will never get used to the feeling of finding unexpected packages from Nike at my doorstep, but it is a beautiful thing. Last week, I was surprised to find these at my door, the Nike Air Pegasus ‘92 Deconstructed QS. This Mowabb inspired colorway is 1 of the 2 “Tokyo” editions from the City Pack that released Internationally last week. I’ve always been a fan of the Mowabb colorways and older Nike runners like the Pegasus, so these were perfect in my opinion. Make sure to hit the jump for more detailed pics!
