A few weeks ago, I did a feature on the new Nike Store at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas. And you may remember, I gave a small preview of the masterpiece I created at the new Nike iD studio. Well, 3-4 weeks later, these finally arrived. I couldn’t be more happier with the way they turned out. Hit the jump to bask in the glory. Enjoy!

With Sneaker Pimps LA just around the corner, I couldn’t help but reminisce about the first Sneaker Pimps I went to back in the early/mid 2000s. Sneaker customization was huge, artists like Futura and Dave White were blowing up, and Biz Markie was the headliner. It was a much simpler, but very exciting time to be into sneakers back then. It was a great era for sneakers and the culture. Times may have changed, and the culture has changed as well, but the love for sneakers is still the same. Make sure to check it out if you’re in the LA area on September 3. Who knows maybe in 10 years you’ll be ranting on your blog about how much better it was 10 years ago…Full flyer after the jump.

No matter how old or successful I get, I think I will always resort to my old College Diet when I’m lazy. For those of you that don’t know, the college diet consists of LOTS of Instant Noodles and of course Value Menus. Wendy’s is by far my favorite value menu, based on the shear variety alone. Sour Cream & Chive Baked Potato, Spicy Chicken Nuggets, Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Jr. Cheeseburger, Small Frosty…and that’s just what I ordered!! They have even more 99 cent items on their menu, depending on location. Everything shown above and after the jump came out to just over $5. College Diet 101: Get the most food for the least cost.

After stopping by RIF this weekend, there was no question that I was going to hit up some good eats in LA right after. And after some debate, the homie and I decided to put all of this Best Burger in Amerca talk to the test. Of course, I’m referring to Umami Burger. And to be honest, Umami is serious. Best burger in America?? Probably not. But I appreciate the thought that went into the food and the freshness of the product. I tried the signature Umami Burger and it was delicious. I wasn’t exactly feeling the $11 price tag considering the portion size, but it is what it is. Maybe not the BEST burger I’ve eaten, but it is definitely up there. Manny (RIF) hard at work.
Good People Helping Good People. That’s what RIF Los Angeles is all about. I made a stop by the shop yesterday to drop off some consignment and pick up a new shirt. They got a full lineup of new colorways of their PUSHING WEIGHT tee right now, and limited sizes of the pocket tees still available. Don’t Sleep. Read More for additional pics.

Every year, around this time, an event rolls into Orange County that gives people an excuse to throw their diets out the window and eat unthinkable things like Fried Kool Aid, or Deep Fried BBQ Ribs, or Fried Candy Apples, or just about anything you can think of fried. Combine that with Carnival games and a sea of sketchy “guaranteed to throw up on yourself” rides and you got the OC Fair. Fairs are probably the only place (besides Vegas) that you could find this many different types of food together in one place. This is the second year in a row that I indulged in the Fair and good times were had. Hit the jump to see what went down.

Joe’s Italian Ice is most famous for their signature Joe Latti (shown above). A perfect combination of Philadelphia style Italian Ice layered with Real Soft Ice Cream. I only recently tried this place for the first time, and found myself wondering why I haven’t been coming here for years. Hit the jump to see the madness that people go through just for these amazing Joe Latti’s.

Top Chef Season 6 winner, Michael Voltaggio is set to open his first restaurant ink sometime this year. However, he will be opening his ultra-secret-hidden sandwich shop, ink.sack, this Thursday, August 11. Ok, it’s not really hidden, but he did keep it under wraps until a recent media gathering for ink. Ink.sack will feature 6 different types of small sandwiches, including a sous-vide fried chicken and hot sauce sauce topped with their signature “ranch cheese,” and a CLT - chicken skin, lettuce, and tomato. I can’t wait to try this place. Ink.sack is located at 8360 Melrose Ave.

This Monday, August 8 (8/8), select So Cal Burger King’s will be serving up 88 Cent Whoppers from 8am to 8pm. Many locations are throwing in a combo deal for $2.88 complete with fries and a drink. As with any type of promotions like this, I’m sure there will be long lines, and limits specific to each location. Don’t Sleep.

Usually, SB’s are an easy pass for me. When it comes to new pickups, I try to stick to the classics (Air Max 1’s, Jordan’s I-V, etc.). But these Dunk Lows are just callin’ me. Grey Suede. Gum Bottoms. Someone needs to write a rap song about that. Retail price is $85. These and the rest of the Nike SB August lineup should already be available at your local Nike SB retailer, including Primitive, Encino and CCS.

The Nike Sportswear Ice Cream Truck has been supplying New Yorkers with FREE ice cream, and fresh sneakers/apparel for most of the Summer. FreshnessMag.com recently went behind the scenes to check out what exactly this ice cream truck has been serving up. Click here to see the detailed pics.

When I heard that Niketown Las Vegas was having a Grand Re-Opening, I knew I had to check it out for myself. I was even lucky enough to have the homie Rachel from Nike Sportswear hit me with an invite to the Nike Event on Friday night, and I couldn’t wait. Unfortunately for me, after a flipped van, a truck fire, and miscellaneous car accidents along the way, I didn’t get to Vegas until 2:30am Saturday morning. I was bummed to say the least, but I was still able to check out the new store and festivities. Hit the jump for more pics!
