Lebron-A-Thon

Lebron goes to the Miami Heat! I know this is a little off topic for the blog, but I had to comment on this crazy event. Most importantly, I feel sorry, not just for Cleveland, but for the state of Ohio. He was their “Savior.” Their best chance at beating the curse. I agree that he made the best choice for himself, to put himself in a position to be a Championship competitor right now. However, it was almost humiliating the way he went at the whole free agency. Not only did we all have to endure the week long “Lebron-A-Thon,” but the worst part is how he announced his final decision. Numerous analysts commented the day before the announcement, “I don’t think Lebron would hold an hour long press conference just to break Cleveland’s heart.” Well, sorry Cleveland, he did. Even when Kevin Garnett left the Timberwolves, he explained his situation and came to an agreement with management before asking to be traded. I don’t blame Cleveland for burning his jerseys. I mean, we probably would’ve done it to Kobe if he left a few years ago too, and I know many Angelinos that still can’t stand Shaq for leaving.
On the basketball side of things, I don’t think having Lebron, Wade, and Bosh necessarily makes them the favorite to win it either (I still think Bosh is overrated). They still have to make it through the East, where Orlando is still solid and Boston brought everyone back for one more run. And as much as I hate to admit it, Boston is still a great team. And honestly, I just don’t think you can consider them the favorites as long as Kobe is still playing. However, it will lead to very exciting basketball though. I can only imagine what Miami Heat ticket sales will be like. Only time will tell how this whole thing plays out. Good luck to Lebron and D. Wade, you guys deserve to win. And good luck to Cleveland.
*On a shoe side of things, I’m sure we can look forward to many Miami themed colorways of Lebron VIII’s.
